Never Be

To white America, Black is Black.

They don’t see skin tone or hair. They don’t see the clothes we wear.

We change our walk, we change our talk, however to them we are all just dark.

We straighten our hair but to the opposite race we will never be fair.

Throughout this life we have gone back and forward.

We have talked about, dragged about and situated class.

We have changed our face, lost weight and even reshaped our ass.

But honestly it is all a waste in despair.

There is no need to fight, because to America,

we will never be white.
